Bihar: Farmer killed by miscreants in Sheohar
Sheohar, Aug 4: A farmer was today killed by armed miscreants at Basantjagjeevan village under Purnahia police station in the district in the early hours.
Superintendent of police Ajay Kumar Mishra told newspersons when the farmer went to the fields, a gang of miscreants attacked him with sharp-edged weapons and slit open his throat. The victim died on the spot.
Later, the local villagers, protesting the killing, blocked the nearby road of the village for a couple of hours, Mr Mishra added.
The body was sent to the Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
An FIR had been lodged in the local police station. No arrests had been made so far and the motive behind the murder was yet to be ascertained, according to police.
