11 dead in separate UP incidents

Lucknow, Aug 4 (UNI) At least 11 people were killed and 45 injured in separate overnight incidents reported from across Uttar Pradesh.

Two devotees were killed after a tractor-trolley loaded with them turned upside down in Ramnagar area of Barabanki district today. As many as 24 persons sustained injuries in the accident, of whom six were stated serious, police said.

In another incident, a woman was charred, while six others sustained burns after coming in contact with a high tension wire in Kotwali area of Lalitpur district.

Whereas, two brothers were run over by a truck in Walterganj area in Basti. A woman was knocked down and cruched by a jeep in Dubhar area of Ballia, while a man was killed and five wounded in a road mishap in Kotwali area.

In Jaunpur, two persons were killed and an equal number injured after a mini-truck they were travelling in rammed into a roadside tree in Chandvak area today, police informed.

Reports from Azamgarh confirmed the death of two men in a road mishap late last night. One person also sustained injuries and had been admitted to hospital. Six people, comprising two policemen, were reportedly injured in an accident in Ghazipur.
