Security tightened in SC due to tomorrow's terrorist threat
New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) The Supreme Court came under terrorist threat today following which the security in and around its complex here was further tightened.
Supreme Court general secretary Mr V K Jain told UNI that an advocate of Patiala house district court Mr Subhash Gulati has received the threat that there would be bomb explosions tomorrow in the Supreme Court and Patiala house district courts situated at India Gate in the national capital.
Mr Gulati passed on the threat message to New Delhi district police as well as to the court officials.
Police immediately swung into action and carried out a thorough search in the Supreme Court and Patiala house courts to ensure that no explosives have been planted in and around their complexes.
Tomorrow, entry to the court complexes would be allowed only after thorough frisking of the visitors and even lawyers without identity cards would be subjected to security checks and files and books would be permitted only after security checks.
Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) secretary Mr K C Kaushik has appealed to SCBA members to cooperate with the security personnels.
Entry of the litigants has already been banned in Supreme Court High Security Zone and they could enter the Zone only after getting an entry pass.
