Massive demonstration by mega star supporters
Kakinada, Aug 3 (UNI) A massive demonstration was observed today by supporters of megastar and former MLA Jyothula Nehru in Jaggampet, where they announced their resignations from the TDP en masse and expressed intention to join the mega star's new party. The demonstrators expressed their staunch support to Mr Nehru and with one voice inviting the matinee idol to enter politics to establish a 'Unique State' free from social, economic, political and other ineualities.
Thirty one MPTCs elected on TDP ticket in the assembly constituency announced their resignations at the meeting. Twenty TDP Sarpanches and three MPPs also followed them.
Mr Nehru, who chaired the meeting said that of the total 12,324 primary members of TDP in the constituency 10,470 had resigned along with him.
Mr Nehru in his speech expressed his anguish over the alleged vilification campaign launched against him by the TDP leaders and the other leaders also joined him in faulting the TDP leadership.
The former MLA had recently quit the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) district party chief's post in the Jaggampet assembly constituency of East Godavari district with thousands of people from all walks of life, mostly the youths congregating at Jaggampet today.
