Flood situation eases, UPites sweat in hot weather conditions
Lucknow, Aug 3 (UNI) People in Uttar Pradesh sweated in hot weather conditions as the flood situation improved.
As per the reports, many swollen rivers have started receding and were recorded flowing only few centimeters above the danger level.
According to Central Water Commission reports, Ganga, Yamuna, Ghagra, Rapti, Gomti were among the rivers that have taken a downward trend and were constant at several places.
River Ganga was overflowing one cm above the red mark in Narora, while river Sharda was 22 cm and three cm respectively above the level in Paliyakala (Lakhimpur Kheri) and Shardanagar.
Ghagra was 22 cm above the danger level in Elginbridge (Barabanki), while the river was 19 cm and 37 cm respectively above the level in Ayodhya and Turtipar. The river is, however, well known as Saryu in the temple city -- Ayodhya.
