Bhiwani, Aug 3 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced to upgrade Badhra sub-Tehsil to the level of a tehsil.
He also announced that Badhra's civil dispensary would be upgraded to a 30-bedded hospital. He announced setting up of a sub-yard at Badhra for providing cold storage facilities to the tomato growers of this region at a cost of Rs five crore.
The Chief Minister, who was addressing a largely attended rally at Badhra in the district said south Haryana had remained neglected in development, particularly in the matter of sharing of canal water. The people of this region had not got their due share so far, he said while promising to ensure that the region was given its due share not only in development but also in canal water.
'' Water will start flowing in the Southern districts of the state through Bhakhra Main Line Hansi-Butana Link canal which has been constructed at a cost of Rs 360 crore,' he said.
Highlighting the importance of electricity, water and education for speedy development of the state, the Chief Minister said the government had accorded top priority to these sectors.
Besides setting up new power plants for generating additional electricity of 5000 MW by 2010 to meet the prevailing shortage and future requirements of electricity, the state government had taken various steps including opening of new universities, increase in number of seats in technical education institutes to improve the standard of education in the state, he added.
Commenting on the statement of Kuldeep Bisnoi, suspended Congress MP that he was offered Rs 100 crore and the post of Chief Minister for voting in favour of the UPA-government during the trust vote in Parliament, the CM dared Mr Bisnoi to disclose the name of the person who gave him this offer. He said this was merely a political stunt.
While referring to the demands of the area, Mr Hooda announced to construct new bus stand of Badhra over a land of two-and-a-half acres, a sports stadium in village Kadma and pavement of streets in all the villages of Badhra Assembly constituency.
Earlier, the CM laid the foundation stone of an Industrial Training Institute at village Balali-Kalali. This is to be constructed at a cost of Rs 10 crore.
The CM also visited Kanya Gurukul Panchgava and announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh for the Gurukul.
