Mumbai, Aug 3 (UNI) Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has described August 2 as his second 'birthday', as it was on this day in 1982 that he had survived the near-fatal accident, on the sets of 'Coolie' in Bangalore when prayers of hundreds of well-wishers and fans and the hard work of doctors at the Breach Candy hospital here brought him back to life.
''It is like 'Punar-Janam for me,'' he reminisced. ''This is the debt that I shall never be able to pay back and which I talk of so often. I am with you today because of those prayers. Prayers from so many I never knew, never met and probably never shall. But I know that you are there and there in my heart with the greatest of affection and love,'' the actor said, writing his 100th blog after a short break in Houston in the US for the 'unforgettable' show.
The legendary actor was born in Allahabad on October 11, 1942.
''I wish to thank through this wonderful medium the gracious congratulations from those, on the 100th day of the blog. It has been a wonderful journey for me. Educative, revealing, emotional.
It has given me the opportunity to reach out to you in a manner I would perhaps have never envisaged. And for you to extend your hand in friendship, which I so readily accept. I pray that I continue to have the strength to commit myself to this wondrous association and the will to execute it,'' Amitabh said.
