Vijayawada, Aug 2 (UNI) Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) General Secretary V Chamundeswaranath today said he would invite batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar to lay the foundation stone for a new stadium coming up at Mengalagiri in Guntur District.
Addressing a press conference along with ACA President G Gangaraju here, Mr Chamundeswarnth said, ''Sachin would be invited as soon as the ongoing India-Sri Lanka Cricket Series was over.'' The stadium with 30,000 seating capacity would be completed in less than two years and cost between Rs 15 to 25 crore, he said.
As per the specification of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), it would also have 20 corporate boxes to be alloted to various companies along with a seperate box for Chief Minister, he added.
The stadium would be a replica of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Australia and there was no derth of funds for it, he claimed.
