Mumbai, Aug 2: The city will witness the highest tide of the month tomorrow on the new Moon day.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials, the height of the tide will be approximately 4.80 meters and will take place at 1302 hours.
The officials said the height of the tide is much higher on the New Moon day as compared to the Full Moon day.
The officials are hoping that it does not rain heavily tomorrow during the high tide, as the Arabian Sea will not accept the rain water, leading to accumulation of water in the various areas of the city.
The city will witness high tides on August 3 and 4. On these days, the height of the tide will be 4.79 and 4.65 meters, and will take place at 1341 hrs and 1420 hrs.
Similarly, high tides of height 4.59 and 4.66 meters will take place on August 30 and 31 respectively, the timing of which will be 1157 hrs and 1233 hrs.
The officials have expressed concerns that if it rains heavily during this period, the rain water will take longer time to drain out and may lead to inconvenience.
