Judge tosses out some claims in Rob Lowe-Nanny sex case
Washington, Aug 2 : A judge has dismissed certain claims made by both the parties in the sexual harassment case nanny Jessica Gibson has brought against actor Rob Lowe.
The judge dismissed four of the Lowe's claims, including his allegation of defamation.
"He lost the heart of his case, which is defamation, and we are permitted to proceed with the heart of our case, which was - and still is - our allegation that Rob Lowe sexually harassed Jessica," Usmagazine.com quoted Gibson's attorney, Gloria Allred, as telling told TMZ.com.
The judge ruled that Gibson, 24, is protected under laws that allow people to protest against their workplace condition.
The court also tossed out Gibson's claims that the 44-year-old actor retaliated against her.
"I'm delighted with the court's ruling today," said Lowe's attorney, Larry Stein.
"It removed the retaliation claim, which Ms. Allred had been focusing on, and left in six claims, which allows us to prosecute every claim we've made," he added.
In previous hearing, the judge has already dismissed two of Gibson's allegations related to labour-code violations.
