FIVKMNNI observes fast to press demands
Puducherry, Aug 2(UNI) The French India Viduthalai Kaala Makkal Nala Narppani Iyyakkam(FIVKMNNI), a movement striving for welfare of the people, who opted Indian citizenship during the merger of Puducherry with Indian Union from French Colonialism, today observed a fast to press their demands.
The fast led by its President D Sivaraj, was to press the Union Territory administration to celebrate November one as 'Puducherry Independence Day', instead of August 16 and an ex-gratia to the tune of Rs one lakh to the economically weak people, who opted for Indian Citizenhip, with a monthly pension of Rs 10,000.
Earlier they took out a procession from the Subbiah Statue junction to the Venkatasubbreddiyar Statue, where the fast was observed.
