Hyderabad, Aug 2 (UNI) Two days after maintaining that a ''grand alliance'' among various parties opposed to the Congress might not not be possible in Andhra Pradesh, CPI State Secretary K Narayana today said the state unit would align with the Telugu Desam Party if the party central unit wanted.
The Communist leader told the media here that he had reservations on electoral understanding with the TDP. He opined that a large section of people were dissatisfied with the present Congress regime as also the previous TDP regime.
The state unit was for building a third front in the state by bringing together ''all forces'' opposed to the ruling Congress and the main opposition TDP, he said.
''In the fast-changing political developments in the country, if the party central unit decides to go with the TDP we will abide by it'', he made it clear.
At the national level, it may be noted that the TDP, along with other constituents of the United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA), the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Left parties, has decided to undertake a campaign against the ''anti-people'' UPA Government on various issues, including price rise, agrarian crisis and the Indo-US nuclear deal.
