Jammu, Aug 2 (UNI) In a bid to intensify the ongoing agitation on Amarnath land row in Jammu region, the Bharatiya Janata party is going to launch three-day nationwide demonstrations from August 11.
''We support the Jammu agitation as it has become people's movement. The agony, which the people of Jammu were facing since years, have finally brought them out of their house to fight for the rights,'' Arun Jaitley, BJP national general secretary said at a press conference after interacting with the trader community of Jammu today.
''The civil administration is forcibly trying to suppress the voice of Jammu but at the present it is not possible to hold back the agitation as it gets more aggravated,'' Mr Jaitley added.
He, however, alleged that only to appease the separatist forces and the fundamentalists, the government has alienated the nationalist people of Jammu.
''The issue raked up only when the administration bowed before the separatists and revoked the order,'' the BJP leader said asserting, ''now people of Jammu, who believe in nationalism are no more in a position to tolerate discrimination and finally the emotions broke out.'' Mr Jaitley added at the moment Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra should realise the pain of people, which he has not so far.
''Once Mr Vohra starts feeling the pain and respects the sentiments, he will start acting in favour of the state and the nation as well,'' Mr Jaitley, BJP in-charge for J &K Affairs added.
Meanwhile he said agitation is an outcome of years long discrimination with people of Jammu either in the matter of employment, census, delimitation or development.
''We as a structured party will try our level best to give healthy shape to the ongoing movement, which will bear fruits,'' Mr Jaitley asserted.
