Badal visits Surjeet's residence in Delhi
Chandigarh, Aug 2 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today visited the residence of late CPM leader Harkishan Singh Surjeet at New Delhi to express his condolences with the members of the bereaved family on the demise of the veteran comrade.
He was accompanied by his Media Advisor Harcharan Bains Mr Badal described Surjeet as ''a great son of Punjab and a heroic figure in Indian politics with an uncanny ability to resolve seemingly impossible political crisis''.
Throughout his life, Surjeet remained an icon of uncompromising simplicity, honesty and easy accessibility, the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister spent sometime with the late CPM leader's family and expressed his condolences with Mrs Pritam Kaur, the late leader's wife, his son Gurchetan Singh and grandson Sandeep Singh.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament and Secretary General Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa also visited the residence of Surjeet to condole his death.
