Kolhapur, Aug 1: Two persons died on the spot and seven others injured when their multi-utility vehicle (MUV) rammed into a Stationary ruck near Kinee-Ghunakee village on Pune-Bangalore National Highway, some 30 km away, from here on Thursday, July 31.
The truck was parked at turning of a river bridge after one of the tyres was punctured, when the mishap occurred. The dead were identified as K Pratap and Ramesh M Haisani. The injured have been admitted to Ramrarambapur Medical Institute at Islampur in Sangli district. Among the injured were two women, three children, a nine-month-old infant and driver of the MUV, police said.
The occupants of the MUV, who were en route to Kolhapur from Shirdi, were residents of Karnul district of Andhra Pradesh, they added.
