City college received threat calls of bomb blast

Nashik, Aug 1: Situation in a city college became tense on Friday, August 1 after the college administration received threat calls of bomb blast.

According to sources, administration office of Gokhale Education Society's RNC Arts, JCB Commerce and NSC Science College at Nashik Road suburb of the city received repeated anonymous threat calls between 1100 to 1130 hrs that there will be bomb blast in the college at around 1330 hrs. The callers were speaking in Hindi, the sources said.

The college administration informed the police, who along with dog squad as well as a Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) team reached the college. They searched the college premises for nearly two-and-half hours, but nothing suspicious was found and the call was proved to be a hoax. However, students of the college as well as two nearby schools, were sent back to their homes as a precaution measure.

Police vigil has still been kept at the college and the situation is under control now.
