2 more succumb to rain-related diseases, toll rises to 65
Mumbai, Aug 1 (UNI) Two more people have succumbed to rain-related diseases today, taking the death toll to 65, since the onset of monsoon this year.
According to civic officials, a 40-year-old man succumbed to malaria at KEM hospital and another man of the same age succumbed to leptospirosis at V N Desai hospital. The total number of deaths due to malaria has risen to 23 this year.
Of the 341 patients admitted to various civic hospitals in the last 24 hours, 186 have been admitted for fever, 62 for gastroenteritis, five for leptospirosis, one for dengue and 87 patients have been admitted for malaria, the official added.
