Two killed, three injured in accident

Jalandhar, Jul 31 (UNI) Two women were killed and three others sustained serious injuries when the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck on Jalandhar-Nakodar road today.

The auto was on way to Nakodar when it was hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction. The auto overturned and a woman passenger, Surinder Kaur, died on the spot, police sources said.

Another woman identified as Harpreet Kaur died on the way to hospital.

In the accident, three more people, including the auto driver, sustained serious injuries.

The truck driver absconded from the spot and efforts were on to nail him, the sources said.
