Trains delayed as bogey falls on track in Ambala division
Ambala, Jul 31 (UNI) Rail traffic on both the UP and Down lines was disrupted today following derailment of a bogey of goods train at Kalanaur railway station between Jagadhri and Saharanpur stations in the Ambala Railway Division today.
Ambala Station Manager R.P. Meena stated that about half a dozen trains were affected with the derailment of a goods train bogey which fell on the tracks while entering the yard.
As the tracks were blocked, a number of trains ran behind their scheduled time while some trains were detained and others were diverted to other routes.
Some trains on way to their destination on the UP line were detained at Saharanpur and left after clearing of the track.
The detained express train was 4888 Barmer-Bhatinda-Haridwar was detained midway at Jagadhri. 306 Delhi-bound passenger train from Ambala via Saharanpur-Meerut was diverted and dispatched direct to its destination on Ambala-Delhi line.
The running of trains was normalised after clearing of the tracks after a few hours.
According to the rail authorities at Ambala Division, the cause of derailment could not be confirmed and an enquiry into the incident has been ordered.
