Seven militants of different outfits nabbed
Imphal, Jul 31: Altogether seven militants of different outfits have been nabbed in Manipur during the past 24 hours, police said on Thursday, July 31.
SP (Imphal East) Th Radheshyam Singh said the police arrested a People's United Liberation Front (PULF) cadre, identified as Nongthonbam Tomba,on Wednesday, July 30. Later, a combined team of Imphal East commandos and 32 Assam Rifles apprehended an ultra of Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), who was involved in extortion from shopkeepers at Imphal, Mr Singh added.
Meanwhile, two members of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) were apprehended by Imphal East police and 32 Assam Rifles (AR) and the State and Central paramilitary force personnel nabbed another two KCP cadres from Imphal East district. In another incident, a rebel of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) was apprehended by Imphal West commandos and troops of 32 AR.
