Hyderabad, Jul 31 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Minister J C Diwakar Reddy today termed as unfortunate the incident involving his brother J C Prabhakara Reddy, who allegedly abused the Road Transport Authorities for seizing his bus a few days back.
Addressing a press conference here, he said though he was not involved in the matter, it was his responsibility as a Minister to respond to the incident in which his brother was involved.
Mr Reddy said there were several ways to express their grievances if any injustice was done to any person, but it was wrong to criticise the officials by pointing out their caste and community.
Blaming the media for distortion of facts, he, however, said a person, whatever be his position in the society, should be punished as per the law after verifying the facts.
Stating that he did not support the acts of his brother with the RTA officials, he said if his brother made any mistake, he should be punished as per the law.
Apparently enraged over special teams of the Transport Commissioner seizing his buses for violating the provision of Motor Vehicles Rules, Mr Prabhakara Reddy landed up at the RTA office here on July 28 and staged a dharna and picked up a quarrel with the officials.
