Mumbai, Jul 31 (UNI) The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) have restricted American national Ken Haywood, from whose computer the e-mail linked with the Ahmedabad serial blasts was forwarded, from leaving the country till further orders.
Top ATS officials said here today they have asked Haywood, who is under the scanner of the ATS as the e-mail was sent from his computer just five minutes before the Ahmedabad serial blasts, was restricted to leave India till orders are issued, as an investigation is still in progress.
Even after five days of interrogation of Haywood, police are still finding itself clueless about the place of origin of the e-mail.
The officials said, ''Haywood's name has figured in a serious case and police have not yet given a clean chit to him. Till completion of the investigation he cannot leave the country.'' The agency believed that the e-mail might have originated within 20 to 30 metres from Haywood's residence Gunine at Sanapada in the neighbouring Navi Mumbai district. Haywood is staying on 15th floor of the building and the officials suspect that somebody might have written the e-mail from the terrace of the building or from surrounding area.
