Mumbai, Jul 31 (UNI) American national Ken Haywood was interrogated by the Anti-terrorist squad chief Hemant Karera for an hour today in connection with an e-mail forwarded from his computer just before the Ahmedabad serial bomb blasts.
Mr Karkera said Haywood has been asked not to leave the country till further orders and his passport has been seized.
''Haywood's name has figured in a serious case and police has not yet given a clean chit to him. Till completion of investigation, he cannot leave the country,'' he told mediapersons.
The ATS chief said they have formed 25 teams and they would be visiting different parts of the state for investigation. One team has also left for Gujarat to assist the local police there.
Even after five days of interrogation of Haywood, police are still clueless about the place of origin of the e-mail.
The agency believed that the e-mail might have originated from within 20 to 30 metres from Haywood's residence 'Gunine' at Sanapada in neighbouring Navi Mumbai district. Haywood has a flat on the 15th floor of the building and the officials suspect that somebody might have written the e-mail from the terrace of the building or from a surrounding area.
