New Delhi, Jul 30 (UNI) Retail prices of farm commodities at different locations generally remained steady or showed mixed trend over the week ending July 25.
Prices of wheat remained steady at all reporting centres except an increase at Lucknow.
Prices of sugar remained steady at all the reporting centrrs except for an increase at Delhi and Mumbai and decrease at Bhubaneshwar and Bangalore, as per monitoring by the Department of Consumer Affairs.
Prices of gram dal remained steady at all the reporting centres except for an increase at Delhi, Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati and Chennai and decrease at Mumbai and Thiruvanthapuram.
Prices of tur dal remained steady at all reporting centers except for an increase at Lucknow, Bhubaneshwar, Bangalore, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram and decreased at Delhi and Mumbai.
In Delhi, prices of rice, sugar, and groundnut oil held steady for one week. Price of vanaspati held steady for one month. Prices of wheat, atta, milk and salt held steady during the last six months. Prices of gram dal, tur dal, tea, potato and onion increased while the price of mustard oil decreased.
PSUs have contracted to import about 1.4 million tonnes of pulses of which about 1.22 million tonnes has arrived and 1.10 million tonnes has been disposed till date. The pulses being imported include urad, moong, tur and yellow peas.
