Mumbai, Jul 30 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj today alleged that at least 32 party MPs were approached by the UPA government representatives at the time of the trust vote in Lok Sabha, with some of them getting assurances of ministerial berths.
Addressing a public meeting here this evening, she also alleged that UPA government had sent elements, who had a history of supporting terrorists, to accomplish this task, while reiterating that the serial blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad were intended to divert attention of the Muslim community from the confidence motion on the Indo-US nuclear deal and cash for vote scam in Lok Sabha.
Ms Swaraj said the UPA had even supported Naxalites in the past.
The BJP leader demanded that SP general secretary Amar Singh's secretary Sanjeev Saxena, who she alleged was aware of the cash for vote scam, should be provided protection as earlier former union minister Shibu Soren's secretary was murdered and there could a threat to his life now.
