South West monsoon active over Kerala, Lakshadweep
Thiruvananthapuram, July 30 (UNI) The South West monsoon has been active over Kerala and at most places in Lakshadweep.
Kasaragod recorded a heavy rainfall of nine cm, followed by Munnar eight cm and Kudilu and Vythiri seven cm each, local weather office said.
The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm were Kannur and Pirvam six each and Kozhikode, Karippur Airport and Kavarathi five each.
Rain occurred at most places in the state and at many places in the Union Territory, it said.
Heavy rain was likely at isolated places in the state during the next 48 hours, it said.
Fishermen were warned of strong onshore winds from westerly direction at a speed occasionally reaching 45-55 kmph off Kerala coast and over Lakshadweep during the next 48 hours.
