Phagwara, July 30 (UNI) Unidentified armed assailants attacked and critically wounded a village Sarpanch, his sister and another BSP activist at nearby village Tehing today.
Personal enmity was said to be the cause of attack, police said.
The sarpanch Balbir Singh of Bahujan Samaj Party had reportedly tried to prevent the attackers from eve-teasing.
All the injured were admitted in Phillaur hospital but were later sent to Ludhiana hospital due to their critical condition.
Bahujan Samaj Party State General Secretary M.P. Singh Goraya has strongly condemned the attack on BSP activists and urged the police to arrest of the culprits immediately.
