Raza award for poetry, fine arts

Bhopal, July 30(UNI) Ustad Alauddin Khan Sangeet Evam Kala Akademi and Madhya Pradesh Sanskriti Parishad will organise Raza Award distribution ceremony and Madhya Pradesh Kala Pradarshini in August this year.

Raza Award for poetry and fine arts, instituted by Syed Haider Raza, would carry Rs 5,000 each. Entries in original, latest and contemporary for fine arts award have been invited from artists below 35 years of age, while the upper age limit for Raza Award for poetry, on collection of poems published between July 2006 and July 2008, is 45.

The applicants would have to submit proof of age and domicile as both Raza Award and Kala Pradarshini are for residents of Madhya Pradesh alone, official sources said.

Fine arts exhibition is organised with a view to promoting artists from Madhya Pradesh. Five prizes of Rs 10,000 each would be given for the exhibition. One of the prizes would be for sculpture.

There is no age limit for participating in the exhibition.
