Chandigarh, Jul 30 (UNI) The Punjab Government has made arrangements for flying Ishmeet's body to Ludhiana after it arrives at New Delhi from the Maldives.
Expressing shock over the sudden demise of singing teen sensation, Ishmeet's targic death due to drowning in Male yesterday, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that in the death of the winner of the Star Voice of India contest the country had lost a budding and talented singer. "The country and Punjab were proud of him", he added.
Addressing a media conference here, he said that on the request of the family the government had made arrangements for bringing Ishmeet's body to Ludhian from New Delhi by a chartered aircraft.
The government will pay for the aircraft, he added while pointing out that the state government officers in the national capital had been given instructions in this regard.
The Chief Minister has directed the Ludhiana district administration to make all arrangements for Ishmeet's funeral. The body is expected to arrive in Ludhiana by the evening and the cremation is expected to take place tomorrow.
