Membership fee concessions for children in e-library
Sirsa, Jul 30 (UNI) Haryana's first E-library functional here has decided to give special concessions on the membership fees to the school children below the age of 14 years.
While giving details an official spokesman said that concessional fees of Rs 100 would be charged from the members who are below 14 years of age and Rs 500 would be charged for the life membership from those above 14 years.
He said that the State Government had established the E-library to create interest of the youths in reading books, newspapers and magazines. He said that this E-library at District Headquarters had benefited people of all ages and had enabled them to increase their knowledge.
He said that this library is equipped with eight computers with broadband internet facility and mostly youngsters are the members of this library. He said that members and readers can take the benefit of browsing the net and equip themselves with the different employment opportunities, news and other important information.
As many as 1100 youths are the members of this library so far.
He said that an amount of 18 lakh had been spent in setting up of this library.
He said that the library computers were well equipped with study material related to various competitions, law books and Encyclopedia Britannica. He said that lawyers visting the library can download important court judgements from the computers.
