Lawyers boycott courts in Western Orissa
Sambalpur, Jul 30 (UNI) Lawyers in different parts of Western Orissa boycotted the courts for the second day today to demand the setting up of a permanent bench of Orissa High Court in the region.
The advocates have been boycotting the courts on the last three days of every month in support of their demand. The agitating lawyers here are also on dharna since the past 28 days.
Sambalpur Bar Association secretary Bijitendra Pradhan said the advocates would continue their agitation till the state government met their demand for a permanent bench of the High Court in Western Orissa.
A report from Baragarh said the agitating lawyers there had a tussle with the police when they prevented the entry of the judges to the court premises yesterday.
The lawyers in Western Orissa have been resorting to various agitational programmes since the past one year demanding permanent bench of the High court.
