New Delhi, Jul 30 (UNI) The BJP today charged the ISI, Pakistan's intelligence agency, with being responsible for the latest spurt in terrorist violence in the country, directly linking it with the serial bomb blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad.
Talking to UNI, senior BJP leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra said the 18 live bombs found in Surat were also part of ISI sinister design to spread terror and engineer disturbances in the country.
He said the Afghanistan Government has already accused the ISI of the car bomb explosion at the gate of Indian mission in Kabul in which four Indians, including two diplomats, were killed.
Even the United States had held the ISI responsible for sudden growth in terrorists activities, Mr Malhotra said.
He said the Centre should take seriously the allegations made by former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad that some parties in the State were encouraging anti-social elements to disturb peace in the state and other parts of the country. It is a serious allegation and needs to be investigated thoroughly, he added.
Mr Malhotra reiterated the party's demand that the government must think of setting up an anti-terror agency and also bring forward a Bill on the lines of POTA to deal with the situation.
To a question, he agreed that there should be no blame game and the government should take all parties in confidence to unitedly face the terrorists. "I don't think any party is not ready to cooperate with the government on this matter," he said.
