Heroin seized on Punjab border with Pak
Ferozpur, Jul 30 (UNI) The Border Security Force (BSF) seized four kg heroin from near Border Outpost (BOP) Nath in the Fazilka sector early this morning.
BSF DIG M C Wassan said here that besides the drug, a SIM card of a Pakistani telecom company was also found.
Mr Wassan said that the carriers of the heroin, who were Pakistani smugglers managed to sneek back across the border when they were challanged by the BSF jawans on duty. He said that their intention was to dump the heroin packets at some 'safe place' close to the border.
These packets would have been retrieved by their Indian contacts later in the day, the DIG said. The SIM card which was recovered would have helped the Indian contacts communicate with the Pakistani smugglers for further instructions.
