Gujarat Police has not sought help from MP
Bhopal, July 30 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh police today denied media reports that Gujarat police had sought help from it connection with the recent serial blasts that rocked Ahmedabad.
Inspector General of Police (Law, Order and Security) Sanjeev Kumar Singh told UNI here that no police team from Gujarat had arrived in Madhya Pradesh for investigation.
He said security has been beefed up in sensitive areas in view of these blasts.
About 25 activists of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) have been arrested from Indore, Ujjain and other places in Madhya Pradesh recently and have been lodged in various jails.
Certain media had reported that two police teams had arrived in Bhopal and Indore for investigation. Besides, there were reports about those meeting arrested SIMI activists being questioned.
