Gujarat Police did not seek help from MP in blast probe
Bhopal, Jul 30 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh police today denied media reports that Gujarat police had sought its help in connection with the recent serial blasts that rocked Ahmedabad.
Inspector General of Police (Law, Order and Security) Sanjeev Kumar Singh told UNI here that no police team from Gujarat had arrived in Madhya Pradesh for investigation.
He said security has been beefed up in sensitive areas in view of the blasts.
Recently, about 25 activists of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) were arrested from Indore, Ujjain and other places in Madhya Pradesh and lodged in various jails.
Earlier, certain sections of the media had reported that two police teams had arrived in Bhopal and Indore for investigation.
Besides, there were reports of those arrested SIMI activists being questioned.
