Bhubaneswar, Jul 30 (UNI) Police today arrested four dacoits and recovered Rs 35 lakh of the total Rs 65 lakh, looted by them from the employees of the Sunakhala branch of the Nilachal Gramya Bank in the first week of July.

Begunia police station in-charge S K Biswal said six dacoits intercepted the vehicle carrying the cash from Sunakhala branch of the Bank to its head office at Bhubaneswar near Begunia in Khurda district.

They looted the money after terrorising the driver and the Bank staff at gun point on July 3.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided the house of the dacoits at various places and arrested four of them in connection with the dacoity.

Mr Biswal said while three were arrested from Cuttack, one of the criminals was arrested from Sunakhala. Police also seized two motorcycles used in the crime.

All the four would be forwarded to court tomorrow, Mr Biswal said, adding, efforts were on to arrest the other two dacoits involved in the crime and recover the rest money.
