Counterfeit products of US-based firm seized

New Delhi, Jul 30 (UNI) Persuant to Delhi High Court directions, Titus and Company law firm conducted raids in the capital and seized alleged counterfeit products of the US-based company ABRO Industries worth lakhs of rupees.

Justice Reva Khetrapal recently appointed eight court commissioners to assist the law firm in conducting the raids.

Lawyer Rajiv Nayyar, appearing for ABRO, told the court that their company is a leading manufacturer, distributor and exporter of wide range of products and has operations in over 165 countries, including India.

They have great reputation worldwide but some manufacturers here are using their brand name and making counterfeit products.

The Court stayed the manufacturing and product distribution, and appointed eight court commissioners to conduct raids.

Titus and Company conducted simultaneous raids at seven places last week and recovered huge quantities of infringing products, including 1,150 units of automative batteries of different sizes and their publicity material.

ABRO represantative Rai S Mittal said the order passed by the courts gives a message to the foreign investors that their rights are not being violated in India and it is safe to do business here.

Mr Rayner Vishal Dass of Titus and Company said this is only the first phase of raids and if the companies indulging in wrong practices will not stop, we will go for next phase of raids.
