CM dedicates to AP ''pick n carry'' cranes
Hyderabad, July 30 (UNI) As part of the road safety initiative, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today dedicated to the State six cranes worth Rs 1.74 crore to clear stranded vehicles involved in accidents on the arterial Vijayawada-Hyderabad national highway.
The Chief Minister, who was accompanied by Transport Minister K Lakshminarayana and Home Minister K Jana Reddy, ordered purchase of ten more cranes for use by the police department in other arterial national highways.
Out of the six cranes, three would be allotted to Nalgonda district, two to Krishna district and one to Rangareddy district, Mr Jana Reddy said.
Mr Lakshminarayana said the cranes have 14 tonnes lifting capacity, four-wheel drive and articulated chassis for short turning radius.
