City court frames charges against Prof in fraud case
New Delhi, Jul 30 (UNI) A Delhi court today ordered framing of charges against Prof Ramesh Chandra, the former Vice chancellor of Meerut University and two others.
CBI Judge V K Maheswari ordered the framing of charges against Ramesh Chandra, his daughter Seema and D K Agarwal for criminal cospiracy, cheating, making false documents and under other variuos sections of thePrevention of Corruption Act.
Chandra's daughter was doing her BE from Karnataka Engineering College but in 1993 she could not clear all her papers and degree was later awarded to her in 1998.
Seema had applied for the post of Assistant Environmentalist with the Delhi Pollution Control Centre and the desirable qualification for the post was BE and three years of work experience.
These people had tampered with the degree and made it of 1994. D K Agarwal provided the work experience certificate of his company. Chandra who was then professor with the Delhi College of Engineering attested the documents.
The court will formally frame charges against the accused on October 11.
