Visakhapatnam, Jul 30 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader and former Minister of State for Home, Ch Vidyasagara Rao today demanded that the Centre should own moral responsibility for the serial bomb blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad in which more than 50 people were killed.
Addressing a press conference here, he demanded reintroduction of the Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) to curb terrorist activities.
He criticised the Centre for its lukewarm response to the recent terrorist attacks in the BJP-ruled Karnataka and Gujarat and stated that the Union government had completely failed as far as the security aspect of the country was concerned.
Lack of proper mechanism to check and arrest the threatening forces was encouraging terrorists to spread their tentacles across the country, he added.
He said all over the country the Anti-foreigner's Act was being implemented to check the illegal entry of people from other nations, whereas in the northeast the Act was non-functional, resulting in the migration of people from neighbouring Bangladesh. UNI BSR MDG RC RK1730 .
