TDP stages dharna in front of Vidyut Soudha
Hyderabad, July 29 (UNI) Legislators and Parliament members of the opposition Telugu Desam Party(TDP) today staged a dharna in front of the Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (AP TRANSCO) office, demanding that the Andhra Pradesh Government supply uninterrupted power to the farmers and domestic consumers.
The TDP leaders led by P Keshav staged a sit-in dharna in front of the ''Vidyut Soudha'' with kerosene lamps and raised slogans against the Government. They alleged that the Government had failed to provide uninterrupted power suppy to the farming community.
Later they ended their dharna and submitted a memorandum of demands to the authorities.
The leaders warned that the TDP would intensify its agitation if the Government did not concede to their demands.
The power shortage in the state had created problems for all sections of people including farmers, weavers, artisans and students, they alleged.
