Chandigarh, Jul 29 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today criticised the BJP and the Left parties for trying to thwart the much needed nuclear deal without putting forth any concerete reason.

The Chief Minister was addressing a largely attended function at the head office of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) here.

The function was organised to welcome Mr Rahul Rao,who assumed the office of President of Haryana unit of National Students Union of India (NSUI).

The Chief Minister said that those who had opposed the nuclear deal, were aware of its significance in the development of the country, but they had other motives. He said that the nuclear deal aimed at generation of energy which would be the pivot for development and go a long way in checking the problem of unemployment in the country.

Mr Hooda regretted that the state unit of the NSUI had remained inactive during last five to six years, but hoped now it would become active under its new president.

HPCC chief Phool Chand Mullana described the NSUI as an important unit of the Congress and hoped that now it would function more effectively.

Mr Rao assured the Chief Minister that he would rejuvenate the NSUI and prepare a disciplined cadre for the party.
