No backers for Sushma's conspiracy theory in BJP
New Delhi, Jul 29 (UNI) The statement of senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj pointing her fingers towards the UPA, holding it responsible for the serial blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad, has proved to be a virtual hot potato for the partymen.
While there has been hardly any backers for Mrs Swaraj's stand, there have been subtle attempts to extricate and distance the party from the stand taken by her yesterday.
BJP General Secretary Arun Jaitley in a television debate last night, went to the extent of clarifying that the party did not hold 'any contemporary party or the leader' responsible for the blasts in the BJP ruled states.
Party sources believe that Leader of the Opposition L K Advani and BJP President Rajnath Singh had expressed their dissatisfaction over Mrs Swaraj's statement, making it clear that the party was not willing to back her views.
Mrs Swaraj had asserted that the blasts occurring in the two BJP ruled states in less than 24 hours, as more of a conpiracy than a coincidence, as shown out by circumstantial evidences.
