Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 29 (UNI) Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Ramesh Chennithala today alleged that the Left Parties were trying to communalise the Indo-US nuclear deal.

Addressing a press conference after the Political Affairs Committee meeting of the KPCC here, Mr Chennithala claimed that the deal was to ensure energy security and development of the country.

The Left Parties were working against the deal with ''vested interests'', he said, adding that the deal would not be against any community.

Mr Chennithala said the Congress would organise programmes, including public meetings, in all the 140 constituencies against the the Left Parties' propaganda of opposing the deal.

On the Left Parties' move to organise agitations against the UPA government, he said it was only a ridicule, as for the last four years, they were part of the UPA, supporting it from outside.

The KPCC Chief said the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in the state had no right to criticise the Centre as it had failed to implement many of the Central schemes, including employment to youth.
