'Dus Ka Dum', 'Sujata', 'Babul Ka..' catapults Sony as No 3 GEC

New Delhi, Jul 29 (UNI) Riding on the success of its celebrity game show 'Dus Ka Dum', socially relevant shows like 'Sujata' and viewership generated by telecast of the latest Bollywood blockbuster 'Welcome', Sony Entertainment Channel has jumped to number three slot among General Entertainment Channels in India as per the latest TRP ratings.

As per the latest viewership ratings, Sony Entertainment television has garnered average ratings of 48 GRPs on the prime time in the last four weeks and average ratings of 44 GRPs on the prime time in the last eight weeks, making it the number three among the GECs, after Star Plus and Zee TV which garnered average rating of 148 GRPs and 112 GRPs respectively in the last four weeks and 149 GRPs and 115 GRPs in the last eight weeks, channel sources said.

In terms of average television viewership ratings during prime time in the last eight weeks, NDTV Imagine and 9X are on fourth and fifth spot with 30 GRPs and 28 GRPs respectively.

However, as per the average viewership ratings during prime time in the last four weeks, NDTV Imagine, 9X and Star One are tied at fourth place with 31 GRPs.

In terms of viewership ratings for the entire day too, Sony is at the number third spot with average ratings of 102 GRPs in the last four weeks and 99 GRPs in the last four weeks. In terms of entire day viewership rating for last eight weeks, 9X remained at fourth position with 89 GRPsm, while NDTV Imagine fifth with 82 GRPs.

However, in terms of average ratings for entire day over the last four weeks, both 9X and NDTV Imagine are at fourth slot with 84 GRPs.

''Weekends have always been power packed and kept Sony Entertainment Television on the top. Now the channel's weekday prime-time shows are attracting people. World premieres like 'Welcome' have delivered a 3.5 TVR and the big-ticket show '10 Ka Dum' continues its undisputable success and holds fort. The channel's longest running shows CID' and 'Boogie Woogie' have continued to engage and excite the audiences,'' sources added.
