Tiruchirapalli, Jul 29: The Tiruchirapalli District Administration has directed private organisations conducting immunisation camps at private hospitals to strictly adhere to the government norms and regulations.
In a release here on Tuesday, July 29 District Collector T Soundiah said camps should be held only after getting permission and under the direct supervision of a competent medical professional. The camp venue should be kept neat and the person administering the vaccine should have adequate experience, he added. The needles should be used only once and disposed off in an eco-friendly manner. The sterility of the vaccines should be ascertained by the medical officer prior to administration.
He warned that criminal proceedings would be initiated if any of the above norms were flouted at such camps. He also appealed to the public to ensure that such camps were authorised by the government.
