New Delhi, Jul 29 (UNI) BJP president Rajnath Singh today constituted a three-member panel headed by party MP S S Ahluwalia to study and report the situation in Jammu and Kashmir which has turned violent with people demanding revocation of the decision to transfer the forestland to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).
The committee comprising Mr Ahluwalia, Santosh Gangwar and Dharmendra Pradhan would study and report back the situation in the state to the BJP president.
The situation there turned violent after the state government decided to take back 100 acres of land granted earlier to the SASB.
The committee will also give its recommendations to deal with the issue.
The state assembly elections are due in November.
