Apeejay wins Mumbai round of Samsung Olympic Quiz

Mumbai, Jul 29 (UNI) Apeejay, Nerul today emerged winner of the Regional round in the ''Samsung Olympic Games Quest 2008'', a mega quiz contest on Olympic Games for school children.

The three-member team from Apeejay, Nerul, represented by Pranav B B Venkat and Ronak Nagoni, emerged as Champions after beating the teams from Lilavati Bai Podar Senior Secondary School, Avalon Heights International School, Vashi, Father Agnel Multipurpose School, Vashi, DAV Public School, Thane and Pune Vidya Bhawan, Ghatkopar.

The contest, which commenced today with its first regional round in Mumbai, witnessed participation from over 100 schools from the Metropolis. VJ turned actor Gaurav Kapoor was the Quiz Master for this event.

The event held at Ravindra Natya Mandir here, began with all the school teams competing with each other in a Preliminary written test. The six winning teams were then selected to participate in the Regional final round.

Pranav B B Venkat and Ronak Nagoni from the winning team won Samsung LCD monitors and earned a Samsung 32 LCD TV for Apeejay, Nerul. All the other finalists were given Samsung MP3 players.

Apeejay Nerul will now compete with teams from Kolkata, Bangalore and New Delhi at the national finals, to be held at New Delhi on August five.
