Dharamshala, Jul 29 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government has decided to fill 28,000 posts in different departments in the next six to eight months of which 18,000 posts were in the Education Department alone.
This was disclosed by Mr I D Dhiman, Education Minister during a press conference here.
He said the state had 713 posts of the Principals of the Higher Secondary Schools vacant but the present government has filled up only 522 posts by promoting the headmasters to the cadre.
About 150 more posts of the principals would be filled up soon, he added.
Mr Dhiman said out of 650 vacant posts of the headmasters, 450 have been filled by the present Government in the state and the remaining 200 posts of the head masters would be filled up within six to eight months and was aimed at improving the quality of the education in the state.
He said about 28,000 posts were likely to be filled in six to eight months in different departments including education department, the subordinate service selection board and H P Public Service Commission has been asked to initiate the process in this regard.
Posts would be filled on the batch wise basis too, he added.
The Minister said the Govt. has implemented the new transfer policy recommended by the Thakur Gulab Singh committee and teachers and headmasters serving in the urban areas from years, together will have the serve in the interior area of the state at least for three to four years.
Teachers during the evaluation of the answer papers should do justice to the students and seek recommendations of the Education Board in this regard while assuring that these recommendations would be implemented in letter and spirit by the Govt, the minister said.
