US delivers 4 F-16 aircrafts to Pakistan
Islamabad, Jul 28 (UNI) The acting Commander of the US Central Command, Lt Gen Martin E Dempsey, today handed over four F-16 jet fighter aircrafts to Pakistan.
The handing over marked completion of the delivery of 14 F-16 aircrafts the United States agreed to provide Pakistan under the Foreign Military Sales programme.
The first two jets were delivered in December 2005 followed by delivery of two more in July 2007, two in February 2008 and four in June 2008.
''The US Government provided the aircraft to Pakistan at no cost except for the expenses of preparation and transport from the United States to Pakistan,'' a US embassy statement said.
The four aircraft presented today are valued at approximately 6.4 million US dollars each.
